Deer Park’s May Moore Primary School recently hosted magician and science entertainer David Hagerman’s Extreme Science assembly. Hagerman investigated the science behind many things the students take for granted in their everyday lives.

Using in-line skates, Hagerman demonstrated the laws of motion. Armed with a giant bungee cord slingshot, the students witnessed potential and kinetic energy and explored gyroscopes via a balancing act. He used slime to explain polymers, caused water to “vanish” to explain crystallization and provided a shocking experience to demonstrate electricity.
