Applebee's Presents $200K To Toys For Tots In Farmingdale: 'We Are Incredibly Proud'

The Farmingdale Applebee's raised the most of any stores across LI and NJ. Thousands of children will receive a gift this holiday season.

FARMINGDALE, NY — Applebee's presented a $200K check to the Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program on Jan. 28, according to a news release. The check was presented at 200 Airport Plaza Blvd., Farmingdale.

Doherty Enterprises celebrated its 26th annual Toys for Tots campaign, which raised more than $200K across Long Island and New Jersey Applebee’s locations. The Farmingdale Applebee’s led the campaign with more than $17K in donations. The Lindenhurst location raised the second most — more than $14K.

"We are very pleased to welcome Doherty Enterprises back for their 26th year as a major national corporate sponsor of the Marine Toys for Tots Campaign," said retired Marine Colonel Ted Silvester, vice president of the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation, through a spokesperson. "Our Marines and volunteers delivered the magic of the holidays to a record 12.9 million children thanks to our corporate partners like Doherty Enterprises!"

The Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program has a long-standing tradition of distributing millions of toys to over 10 million children annually. Doherty Enterprises’ contribution "underscores its commitment to supporting local communities through charitable initiatives," the company stated.

"We are incredibly proud of our restaurant teams and guests for coming together to support such an important cause," stated Kurt Pahlitzsch, vice president of operations at Doherty Enterprises. "The Toys for Tots program aligns perfectly with our mission to make a positive impact in the communities we serve. Thanks to the generosity of our guests and the dedication of our team members, thousands of children will experience the joy when receiving a gift in the upcoming holiday season."
