Be a Blood Donor, Earn Free Mets Tickets

The East Farmingdale Fire Department is hosting a big blood drive next week where donors can earn a pair of free Mets tickets

The event is scheduled for Wednesday, July 17, from 2-8 p.m. at the East Farmingdale's fire department headquarters, located at 930 Conklin Ave.

Organizers, citing statistics from the American Red Cross, say a single donation can help to save up to three lives.

Local community hospitals need the help, and your gift is appreciated, firefighters said.

The eligibility criteria:

• Bring ID with signature or photo.
• Minimum weight 110 lbs.
• Age 16 – 75 (16 year olds must have parental permission. Age 76 and over need doctor’s note)
• Eat well (low fat) & drink fluids
• No tattoos for past 12 months
