Brush Fire Spreads To South Farmingdale Home

Officials believe the fire may have been caused by fireworks.

SOUTH FARMINGDALE, NY — Firefighters doused a brush fire in South Farmingdale on Saturday night, Nassau police said.

Officers responded to a home on Cinque Drive just after 9:30 p.m., police said. A small brush fire had spread to the neighboring home, police said.

The South Farmingdale Fire Department responded to extinguish the flames. No injuries were reported, police said. The Nassau County Fire Marshal and Arson Bomb Squad also responded to the home.

The cause of the fire is undetermined as of Saturday but police believe it had been started because of fireworks. The investigation is ongoing.
