Crime Report: Reckless Driving, Bank Robbed

A blotter of the latest arrests and incidents in Farmingdale.

The following arrest information was supplied by the Suffolk County Police Department, Nassau County Police Department, and New York State Police Troop L.  It does not indicate a conviction

Arrests

  • Charles W, Hess Jr., 46, of Farmingdale, was arrested on Dec. 2 on Merrick Road in Bellmore and charged with criminal possession of a weapon, reckless driving and seven violations of vehicle and traffic law.
  • Robert Pollick, of Merrick, was arrested in East Farmingdale on Dec. 4 and charged with harassment, criminal mischief with the intent to damage property, criminal possession of a controlled substance and resisting arrest.

  • Police received a report that sometime between Dec. 4 and 5 the door of a 2002 maroon Dodge on North Hawthorne Street in North Massapequa was broken into and property stolen.
  • The , possibly by the same individual who recently stole from banks in West Hempstead and Freeport, police reported.
  • Police received a noise complaint on Dec. 4 on Walnut St.
  • Suffolk County Police first squad detectives are investigating a two-car crash on Route 110 in North Amityville that seriously injured a man on Dec. 6. Melchiore Cappadona was driving a 2005 Toyota Camry northbound on Route 110. He attempted to make a left turn onto Francine Avenue when his vehicle was struck by a 2006 Acura TL, which was traveling southbound on Route 110. Cappadona, 81, was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip where he was admitted in serious condition. The driver of the Acura, Indya Thornton, 26, of 195 Jefferson Ave., North Amityville, was also transported to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center where she was treated for non-life-threatening injuries. Both vehicles were impounded for safety checks. Detectives are asking anyone with information on this crash to call the first squad at 631-854-8152.
