Elected Officials to Host Senior ID Program at Library

Seniors can get free, wallet-sized ID card useful in emergencies.

Senior citizens can get a free, wallet-sized Senior ID card at the Farmingdale Public Library on Wednesday June 5.

The program, sponsored by Sen. Kemp Hannon, Sen Charles Fuschillo and Nassau County Executive Ed Mangano, takes place from noon until 4 p.m. Seniors are defined as "60 and above."

The cards can be useful in emergencies. They contain:

  • Personal contact information.
  • Current Photo.
  • An emergency contact name and phone number.
The cards can be helpful to police, fire or ambulance responders in an emergency.
