Elementary School Celebrates Friendship Week

Farmingdale’s Woodward Parkway Elementary School recently launched the 2013-2014 school year by celebrating Friendship Week

The week-long event taught students the meaning of friendship and responsibility as the school organized activities that emphasized the importance of the character traits. 

Throughout the week, students were encouraged make a new friend during lunch period and spend time getting to know each other during recess. 

A copy of the book Yo! Yes?, a story how two students became best friends, was also distributed and read to students in each classroom.  The book was named as the school’s first “Book of the Month” of the current school year.
