The Long Island Classic for Safe Schools is a fundraising event for Long Island Gay and Lesbian Youth (LIGALY). Your contribution directly funds five non-profit organizations that work to end homophobia and transphobia on Long Island, to provide a home and safe space for the GLBT community, and to advocate for equality.

Our Safe Schools Initiative works to create safer and more supportive schools free from anti-GLBT bullying.  It is one of the largest and most comprehensive programs of its kind in the nation, and includes a spectrum of school-based and community-based education, training, outreach, leadership development, and community building programs including the following program areas: Anti-Bullying Workshops, Faculty Training, Safe Schools Teams (SST), Gay-Straight Alliances (GSAs), National Coming Our Day School Awareness Campaign (NCOD), and the Long Island Gay-Parent, Teacher, Student Association (G-PTSA).
