IDA to Hold Public Hearing on Downtown Development

The Nassau County Industrical Development Agency plans to conduct a hearing on March 20 on tax-exemptions and other matters for a proposed downtown Farmingdale apartment development.

The meeting, open to the public, is at 10 a.m. at Village Hall.

The key component to the planned development at 120 Secatogue Ave. near the LIRR station is a mixed-use facility consisting of about 13,200 square feet of commercial space and 115 residential rental apartments, a portion of which will be affordable units.

The developer,   would receive financial assistance from the IDA in the form of potential exemptions or partial exemptions from real property taxes, mortgage recording taxes and sales and use taxes. The IDA will hear comments ffrom interested parties. Written comments will also be accepted.
