New VP Of Student Affairs Announced By Farmingdale State College

FARMINGDALE, NY — Ronald C. Jackson was appointed vice president for student affairs at Farmingdale State College, the school announced. He is set to assume the role April 14.

Jackson will report to FSC President Robert S. Prezant and will serve as a member of the president's
cabinet, where he will provide senior leadership for the Division of Student Affairs.

In this role, Jackson will oversee the college’s expanding student life initiatives, including the Dean
of Students Office, Student Activities, Residence Life, Health and Wellness Center, Disability
Services Center, Veterans Services, Title IX, and Campus Mental Health Services, among other
student-focused programs.

"I am honored to join the Farmingdale State College family and excited to collaborate with students, staff, and faculty to enhance the student experience and reimagine what’s possible," Jackson said in a news release. "I’m committed to fostering an inclusive, supportive, and welcoming campus environment where every student can thrive academically, socially, and professionally. I look forward to building on Farmingdale’s tradition of excellence and helping our students achieve their fullest potential."

Jackson brings 25 years of experience to this role, most recently serving as vice president of
student affairs and dean of students at Brooklyn College, part of the City University of New York
(CUNY) since June of 2016. He also held dean of students appointments at the Community College of Philadelphia and Marymount Manhattan College. His earlier experience includes positions as manager of student development and activities at Columbia University and resident director at William Paterson University.

"I have been impressed by Dr. Jackson's insight and depth into so many diverse aspects of student
affairs," Prezant stated. "His unshakable focus on positive student outcomes is the driving force that will ensure the continued growth of FSC’s student engagement and associated support programs."

Jackson received a BS in biology at the University of Michigan, an MA in higher education administration from The George Washington University, and an EdD in higher education management from the University of Pennsylvania.
