NY 2nd Congressional District: Republican Primary Preview
Three Republicans, including the incumbent Andrew Garbarino, are vying for the U.S. Congress seat ahead of this month's primary.

LONG ISLAND, NY — Voters in New York's Second Congressional District are set to head to the polls on Tuesday for the primary. The polls are set to close at 9 p.m.
Incumbent U.S. Congressman Andrew Garbarino (R — NY) is looking to defend his seat in both the primary and, should he move on, the General Election against Democratic challenger Jackie Gordon, who is the party's only candidate, according to Ballotpedia.
Garbarino will be challenged by fellow Republicans Robert Cornicelli and Mike Rakebrandt.

Garbarino defeated Gordon in the 2020 General Election with 52.9 percent of the votes to 46 percent to be elected to Congress. Harry Burger of the Green Party picked up 1 percent of the vote.

Nassau County communities in the 2nd district include Levittown, North Wantagh, Seaford, South Farmingdale and Massapequa. Suffolk County communities include Amityville, Copiague, Lindenhurst, Gilgo, West Babylon, Wyandanch, North Babylon, Babylon, Bayport, Baywood, Brentwood, Brightwaters, Central Islip, Islip, Great River, Ocean Beach, Oakdale, West Sayville, Bohemia, West Islip and Ronkonkoma.
