Power Outage Impacts Adventureland
Report: Amusement park in East Farmingdale loses power for 90 minutes.
A tractor-trailer crashed into a power pole Thursday, causing Adventureland amusement park to lose power for about 90 minutes and shutting down some of the rides.
The outage was reported about 3 p.m. when a tractor trailer slammed into a pole on Route 110, Newsday reported. Manager Sonny Grosso told the newspaper that other area businesses also lost power.
The east end of the park was without power until about 4:30 p.m., Newsday reported.
Grosso told Newsday that refunds were granted to customers who were disappointed.,
