FARMINGDALE, NY — There is a "shovel in the ground" for a 71-unit affordable workforce housing complex in Farmingdale, Ralph Ekstrand, mayor of Farmingdale Village, announced.
The complex will only house workers making between $55,000 and $90,000, Ekstrand said. It will be built at 860-906 Route 109.
"Farmingdale has done a tremendous amount of smart growth and re-development," Ekstrand said at the 2022 Smart Growth Summit held by Vision Long Island in December. "And we are very proud that we have the first 100 percent workforce housing unit - shovel in the ground - in Nassau County."
