FARMINGDALE, NY — Farmingdale Village announced its St. Patrick's Day Parade, Easter Egg Hunt, and more. Check out all the winter and spring seasonal activities coming to town.

  • Be a Star: March 4 and April 1, 7 to 8:30 p.m. — Farmingdale Open Mic & Jam Sessions —hosted by Chuck and Vinny, inside Farmingdale Village Hall. Music, poetry, comedy, stand-up, spoken word, dramatic reading, magic, jazz, and other performances. Various types of performers. All Ages, are welcome to participate in this family-friendly content. To register in advance, email openmicfarmingdale@gmail.com, or sign-up that night 7 p.m. First come, first-served. Located at 361 Main St., Farmingdale. Bring friends, family for a fun night.   • The 11th Annual Farmingdale St. Patrick’s Day Parade is set for 2 p.m. Sunday, March 16. Wear green and join the community for a great parade and fun celebration in downtown Farmingdale. Farmingdale Village Trustee Cheryl Parisi will serve as the parade's grand marshal. The parade kicks off from Northside Elementary School and spans about half a mile down Main Street to the Village Green including local community groups, Farmingdale/local Fire Departments, Pipe Bands, Village Officials, and more! Groups, organizations, or clubs interested in participating / marching in the Village of Farmingdale's St. Patrick's Day Parade can email: Joe Fortuna at Joef@thenuttyirishman.com, or call 516-293-9700. Individuals and residents can also join in the line-up to march. The parade step-off is at 2 p.m. Marchers and parade participants are asked to meet at Northside Elementary School around 1:30 p.m. to line up.

"Enjoy lunch with family and friends before the parade and stay downtown afterwards for dinner and drinks," the village wrote. "Farmingdale Village is a terrific downtown destination; shop and dine local — explore the many shops, merchants, Culinary Quarter Mile restaurants, bars, clubs, breweries, eateries, with some new spots!"

Main Street will be temporarily closed for the parade. The parade is planned by the Farmingdale Business Improvement District.

  • A workshop with local history librarian Natalie Korsavidis is scheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday, March 23, at Farmingdale Village Hall.
    • "World War II was a time filled with fear, uncertainty, patriotism, and a strong sense of community. Farmingdale was no different," the village wrote. Korsavidis will share stories gathered from oral histories, first hand accounts, the local newspaper, and more about what life was like in Farmingdale during this time. Hear stories about the soldiers, the residents, and how the village prepared for the wartime years. Free to attend, limited seating inside village hall, first come, first seated. Sponsored by the Farmingdale-Bethpage Historical Society / Farmingdale Village Cultural Arts Committee.

  • Farmingdale Easter Egg Hunt: Photos with the Easter Bunny: Bring family, friends and Easter baskets to the Farmingdale Village Green, at 361 Main Street.
    • Saturday April 12: Egg hunt starts at 11 a.m. sharp. Arrive early by 10:45 a.m., bring Easter baskets, then take photos with the Easter Bunny at the gazebo. Free to attend, egg hunt for children 11 years old and younger.
    • Sponsored by the Farmingdale Cultural Arts Committee, rain date, Sunday, April 13. Egg hunt 2 p.m. sharp. Arrive early by 1:45 p.m. Facebook event link here.
