Upgraded Playground Opens At Farmingdale's Woodward Parkway Elementary
The $220,000 in funding for modernizing the playground was obtained through Nassau County's Community Revitalization Program.

FARMINGDALE, NY — A refurbished playground opened at Woodward Parkway Elementary School in Farmingdale.
A dedication ceremony celebrated the playground's reopening. Nassau County Legislators Rose Marie Walker and James Kennedy joined with Farmingdale School District officials, parents, and children for the dedication.
Walker and Kennedy obtained $220,000 in funding for the playground through Nassau County’s Community Revitalization Program (CRP).

“One of the most important investments we can make is in our children,” Walker said via news release. “Allocating county dollars to provide projects that enhance our schools, parks and open spaces has always been a priority that will pay dividends to residents of all ages. I’m happy I was able to partner with Legislator Kennedy in delivering for our Farmingdale community.”
Kennedy said he was "pleased" to partner with Walker on opening the playground.

"This playground was nearly two decades old and needed to be upgraded," Kennedy said. "Now, youngsters throughout the community will enjoy this state-of-the-art facility for years to come.”
