Village of Farmingdale Election: Candidate Georgiana Sena

Final pitch from the mayoral candidate to residents.

By Georgiana Sena

I think residents of Farmingdale should vote for me for Mayor because I am a person who can identify problems and solve them. This Village needs many changes which I am ready, willing and able to address starting now. I have walked every block in our Village these past few months and know the problems that concern my fellow residents--and I know I can help them.  People are worried about property values, the loss of businesses on our Main Street, fiscal responsibility and quality of life issues. As a long-time resident and homeowner I agree with them and know I can put our Village back on the right track.

Farmingdale Village is a lovely community and we want to keep it that way but we have issues that the current administration has been unable to solve. My opponent is part of that administration and I do not believe that giving him four more years is in the best interest of the community. He’s had his chance fix things and did not do it.

Our once beautiful and thriving Main Street is becoming a ghost town with many more stores becoming vacant over the past four years, during the time my opponent was in office. I plan to stem the tide with “smart” growth development that does not attract the wrong kinds of businesses. I will work closely with Town of Oyster Bay Supervisor John Vendetto’s administration to help realize these revitalization goals.

I have over 25 years of business experience as a legal administrator and I am well known as a civic and community leader. I have also volunteered extensively for humanitarian and charitable organizations and I recently established Farmingdale’s new Kiwanis club. I know how to work within bureaucracies to get things done.
