Adored Five Towns Fixture, Florist Owner, Dies at 94

HEWLETT, NY — A longtime resident of Hewlett died this month at age 92.

Chris Stefanakos had heart failure on Oct. 14, Newsday reported.

He was known in the community for running Stefan's Florist in Lawrence, keeping a presence in the shop until shortly before his death, Newsday said.

Stefanakos was so beloved that even Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman remembered the man: “If it was a sin to be boring, this guy was a saint."
