Parts Of Nassau Soaked By More Than 5 Inches Of Rain
Heavy rain is expected to linger on Long Island through Saturday morning.

LONG ISLAND, NY — Heavy rain led to an ongoing flash flood warning for Nassau County on Friday.
Valley Stream saw the highest total with 5.70 inches on Long Island, as of a 2 p.m. report from the National Weather Service.
Great Neck had 5.62 inches, while East Rockaway had a deluge of 5.11 inches of rain. Hewlett topped four inches.

Mineola received 3.62 inches, while had more than 3.5 inches of rain and Carle Place topped three inches.
In Suffolk, the most rain fell in Dix Hills through Friday afternoon with 2 inches. Northport received 1.86 inches, while Smithtown had 1.6 inches, the National Weather Service said.
