UBS Arena Joins Venue Group Committed To Sustainability
The worldwide group called GOAL is dedicated to climate change and helping the environment for the future.

ELMONT, NY — UBS Arena has been rewarded for its committment to climate change. The arena at Belmont Park joined a collective of major venues for live sports and entertainment worldwide as a member of the Founding Circle for GOAL.
GOAL, which stands for Green Operations and Advanced Leadership, was founded in October to provide a roadmap for venues committed to operating more sustainability, more urgently.
UBS Arena has achieved carbon neutrality for all scope 1 and 2 emissions from operations. Through the purchase of carbon and renewable energy credits, the arena has reached this milestone 2 years ahead of schedule, which makes it the first arena to do so on the eastern United States seaboard.

"Sustainability is integral to UBS Arena’s operations. It’s evidenced by our continued investment in carbon reduction and offset strategies. We continuously challenge ourselves to improve, and our next goal is to be zero waste by the end of 2023. Therefore, joining GOAL as a member of the Founding Circle was an unmistakable next step," Kim Stone, UBS Arena president and OVG East Coast EVP, said.
Citi Field is also among the 16 Founding Circle members.
