2 Huntington Station Employees Sold Tobacco To Minor: Police

Undercover compliance checks at local vape shops led to two arrests, Suffolk police say.

HUNTINGTON STATION, NY — Two men were arrested Monday after reportedly selling tobacco products to an underage person during compliance checks in Huntington Station, Suffolk County police said.

Following community complaints, police said that Second Precinct investigators had conducted an operation targeting 10 vape shops across the Town of Huntington. Two of the businesses were found to be out of compliance.

Ali Abdoulla Alssoudi, 34, of Brooklyn, an employee at Joe Joe Convenience and Candy Store at 212 Depot Road, and Osvani Ramos Tiros, 28, of Huntington Station, an employee at Tobacco Corner at 117 Walt Whitman Road, were each charged with unlawfully dealing with a child, police said.

Both men were issued field appearance tickets and are scheduled to appear in First District Court in Central Islip at a later date.
