2nd Annual Town Of Huntington Food Drive: Info
Four venues in the Huntington and Northport areas are collecting food this Sunday, featuring a friendly competition between football teams.

TOWN OF HUNTINGTON, NY — The second annual Supermarket Food Drive is scheduled for noon to 4 p.m. Sunday across the Huntington and Northport areas, Councilman Salvatore Ferro and Town Director of Minority Affairs Kevin Thorbourne announced.
Local high school football teams are raising awareness of hunger and supporting local food pantries at four participating locations.
The teams will be collecting non-perishable food items outside the following locations:

- Harborfields Tornadoes Football: Greenlawn Farms, at 777 Pulaski Road, Greenlawn.
- Huntington Blue Devils Football: Stop & Shop, at 60 Wall St., Huntington.
- Elwood Knights Football: Stop & Shop, at 3126 Jericho Turnpike, East Northport.
- Northport Tigers Football: Stop & Shop, at 454 Fort Salonga Road (25A), Northport.
Ferro emphasized the significance of the different football teams coming together to give back to the community.
"The Supermarket Food Drive embodies the strength of our community spirit," Ferro said in a news release. "I'm immensely proud of our local high school football teams for their commitment to supporting those in need within our community. This event showcases the unity and compassion that define our town."

Residents were encouraged to join Ferro, Thorbourne, and the high school football participants on Sunday to donate non-perishable food items and help make a positive impact on the lives of those facing food insecurity in Huntington.

Patch has partnered with Feeding America since 2020 to help raise awareness in our local communities of hunger, a persistent national problem exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic.
