Celebrating Purim in Huntington
A time of dressing in costumes, noshing and plenty of noise-making.
Purim, the holiday that celebrates Esther’s protection of the Jewish people from Haman, begins at sundown Wednesday.
That means, weather permitting, children and adults alike will be dressing in costume, enjoying a Megillah reading to hear the story of Purim and shaking their groggers (noisemakers) at the mere mention of Hamen. And there will be plenty of noshing on hamentashen (triangular-shaped cookies with fruit or other fillings) .

- Huntington Jewish Center at 510 Park Avenue at 7 p.m.
- Temple Beth El of Huntington at 660 Park Avenue at 7 p.m for an adult celebration
