Cops: Employees Hospitalized, Threatened With Taser In Robberies

Here are recent incidents reported in the Huntington area, according to Suffolk County Police.

Saturday, Dec. 1

At 7 a.m., police reported a burglary in which several containers filled with coins were stolen from a residential kitchen on Woodhull Road in Huntington at some point between 7 a.m. on Dec. 1 and 9:10 p.m. on Dec. 5. No arrests have been made at this time. The investigation is ongoing.

Wednesday, Dec. 5

At 12:45 a.m., Christopher Cooke, 19, of Wheatley Heights, was arrested after police say he attempted to steal a pair of sneakers and then fought with an employee at Lord and Taylor, located on Walt Whitman Road in Huntington Station. The employee had to be taken to Huntington Hospital for treatment of minor scratches and bruises. Cooke was charged with second-degree robbery.

At 4:11 p.m., Markishia Hardy, 26, of Amityville, stole baby clothes and threatened an employee with a Taser gun when confronted at Buy Buy Baby, located on Walt Whitman Road in Huntington Station, police say. She was arrested on Wednesday, Dec.12 and charged with second-degree robbery.

Thursday, Dec. 6

At 2:15 p.m., Keon Jerrick, 29, of Amityville, was arrested after police say he was found to be in possession of Wiss brand wire cutters at Macy’s, located on Walt Whitman Road in Huntington Station. He was charged with possession of burglary tools.
