Harborfields’ Ava Vandor Makes History, Wins 3rd Straight Diving Title
Senior diver to compete for County Championship at Stony Brook University.
GREENLAWN, NY — It’s a championship week at Harborfields High School, where senior Ava Vandor made history and three Tornadoes teams kept their postseason dreams alive.
Vandor captured the league diving championship for the third consecutive year, a remarkable accomplishment that cements her as one of the top divers in Suffolk County. She will represent Harborfields at the County Championship at Stony Brook University on Nov. 6, at 5:30 p.m.
Her win highlighted a week of athletic success across the district, as Harborfields’ girls soccer, boys soccer, and field hockey teams all advanced to the semifinals in their respective playoff brackets.

The girls' soccer team earned a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Smithtown West, setting up a home semifinal against Half Hollow Hills West on Friday, Oct. 31.
Meanwhile, the boys soccer team battled to a 2-1 win, also against Smithtown West, and will face Deer Park on Oct. 31 in semifinal play.

Rounding out the trio of victories, the girls' field hockey team edged Comsewogue 2-1 to move on and host East Islip on Nov. 1.
