HUNTINGTON, NY — Holi, a Hindu festival of spring and colors, is coming to Huntington.

The Town of Huntington's Holi festival is scheduled for 3 to 7 p.m. Saturday at the Huntington Senior Center, at 423 Park Ave., Huntington.

The festival was organized by Supervisor Ed Smyth, Town Councilman Sal Ferro, and Town Attorney Deborah Misir.

Holi is a popular Hindu festival celebrated as the Festival of Colors, Love and Spring. It celebrates the eternal and divine love of the god Radha and Krishna.

People typically celebrate Holi with brightly colored powders they throw around and smear on clothes and faces. Colors generally used include hues of blues, yellows, magentas, greens, violets, and more.
