Participants creates outfits from recycled items and wear them while walking the runway.

Mineola Middle School sixth-grader Jillian Parrino received an honorable mention in the 2015 Town of North Hempstead Trashion Show held in January.
For the show, Jillian had to create an entire outfit out of recycled items and wear it while walking down a runway. Set to the theme of “Calling the 1990’s,” Jillian created a dress out of the Yellow Pages, used old phone cords as fashion accessories and transformed old denim into a handbag.
