Huntington Hospital Recognized As Center Of Excellence In Hernia Surgery

HUNTINGTON, NY — Huntington Hospital was designated a Center of Excellence in Hernia Surgery by the Surgical Review Corporation, Northwell Health announced.

In addition to the hospital’s recognition, William M. Martin, MD earned the prestigious Master Surgeon in Hernia Surgery status from the Surgical Review Corporation.

"As a Center of Excellence in Hernia Surgery, Huntington Hospital has demonstrated its dedication to delivering high-quality care," Martin stated in a news release. "Achieving this recognition, alongside earning master surgeon status, is a testament to the collaboration and expertise of our entire surgical team."

These certifications "reflect the hospital’s and Dr. Martin’s adherence to the highest standards in patient care, surgical proficiency, and long-term outcomes in hernia surgery," the health network stated. The evaluation process by the Surgical Review Corporation involves an extensive review of clinical practices, patient safety protocols, and surgical outcomes, according to Northwell Health.

The Surgical Review Corporation is an internationally recognized nonprofit organization that establishes and oversees the certification process for health care facilities and professionals.
