Huntington Police Blotter: Burglar Steals Safe From Huntington Station Home

ALSO: Woman arrested in connection with theft of $1,700 worth of apparel faces grand larceny charge, police say.

HUNTINGTON, NY — Curious about what's going on in your neighborhood? These are recent incidents reported in the Huntington area from Aug. 4 through Aug. 10.

The Suffolk County Police Department posted the following information. All charges are accusations and do not signify guilt.

  • Aug. 8: Alfa Rivera-Peguero, 30, of the Bronx, stole $1,786 worth of clothing and footwear from a store at 839 New York Ave., Huntington Station, around 6 p.m. July 11, while acting with another person, police said. A trespass affidavit had previously been filed by the store Rivera-Peguero stole from, police said. She was arrested and charged with third-degree burglary: illegal entry with intent to commit a crime and fourth-degree grand larceny: value of property more than $1,000, police said.

Incidents

  • Aug. 9: Grand larceny (fourth-degree) was reported on Walt Whitman Road in South Huntington at 2:20 p.m. Three people entered Lululemon and stole $2,380 worth of property, police said.
  • Aug. 4: Burglary (second-degree) was reported on Ninth Street in Huntington Station at 10:20 p.m. Someone entered a home through a back window, police said. The burglar entered a bedroom and stole a safe containing cash, passports and paperwork, police said.
