Huntington Police Blotter: Man Breaks Into 2 Homes, Steals Jewelry From 1

ALSO: An employee of The Home Depot was accused of stealing money from the cash registers, police say.

HUNTINGTON, NY — Curious about what's going on in your neighborhood? These are recent incidents reported in the Huntington area from July 28 through Aug. 3.

The Suffolk County Police Department posted the following information. All charges are accusations and do not signify guilt.

  • July 30: Paul Jean, 45, of Astoria, entered a Cold Spring Lane home in Huntington through the first floor window at 9:15 a.m. April 2 but left without stealing anything, police said. Roughly 20 minutes later, Jean entered a Coldport Drive, Huntington home through an unlocked front door and stole jewelry, police said. He was arrested and charged with third-degree grand larceny: property value exceeds $3,000 and two counts of second-degree burglary: dwelling, police said.
  • July 29: Jeffrey Valencia-Chileno, 19, of Huntington Station, stole money from the cash registers while employed at The Home Depot between July 16 and July 24, police said. He was arrested and charged with third-degree grand larceny: property value exceeds $3,000, police said.

Incidents

  • Aug. 2: Auto-stripping (third-degree) and criminal mischief (third-degree) were reported on Nassau Road in Huntington at 5 a.m. Someone stole a catalytic converter off of a 2011 Toyota that was parked on a street, police said.
  • Aug. 2: Auto-stripping (third-degree) and criminal mischief (third-degree) were reported on Bogart Street in Huntington Station at midnight a.m. Someone stole a catalytic converter off of a 2003 Acura, police said.
