Huntington Police Blotter: Man Steals Roughly $4,300 Worth Of Glasses From 2 Shops
ALSO: Money stolen from Huntington Station man's bedroom; and check gets stolen and washed, police say.
HUNTINGTON, NY — Curious about what's going on in your neighborhood? These are recent incidents reported in the Huntington area from Aug. 11 through Aug. 17.
The Suffolk County Police Department posted the following information. All charges are accusations and do not signify guilt.

- Aug. 14: Daniel Sherlock, 29, of Huntington, stole four pairs of sunglasses worth $1,894 from Sunglass Hut in Huntington Station on July 18, police said. Sherlock then stole six pairs of glasses worth $2,400 from LensCrafters on July 21, police said. He was arrested and charged with two counts of fourth-degree grand larceny: value of property more than $1,000 and four counts of petty larceny, police said.
Incidents
- Aug. 15: Grand larceny (third-degree) was reported on Gerard Street in Huntington at 4:30 p.m. Someone stole a check that had been mailed at a local post office, washed it and changed the amount, police said.
- Aug. 13: Grand larceny (third-degree) was reported on 16th Street in Huntington Station at 7:15 p.m. Money was stolen from a man's bedroom, police said.
