TOWN OF HUNTINGTON, NY — The Town of Huntington urged caution on icy roads and announced it opened a warming center in Dix Hills.

The icy roads caused by the temperature drop on Tuesday night made for hazardous driving conditions, Superintendent of Highways Andre Sorrentino said in a news release.

"I am asking all travelers in the Huntington area to use great caution if you must be on the roads," Sorrentino said. "Please reduce your speed and don’t tailgate."

The town said it will be working with the Suffolk County Police Department Second Precinct on areas of greatest need. To report icing conditions in the Town of Huntington, you may call 631-499-0444.
