Man Arrested For Sexually Assaulting Teen In Huntington: Police

The girl was walking down a street with her friend when she was sexually assaulted on Sunday morning, police say.

A Huntington Station man has been arrested for sexually assaulting a teenage girl in Huntington on Sunday, Suffolk Police announced on Tuesday.

Daniel Adum, 19, was charged with first-degree criminal sex act and second-degree aggravated sexual abuse. Adum will be arraigned Tuesday at First District Court in Central Islip.

According to authorities, the 16-year-old girl was walking with a friend on Prospect Street, about 100 feet south of Main Street, when she was assaulted by Adum at 1:15 a.m. on Sunday. The man fled on foot toward Main Street.

The teen was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

Police described the man as Hispanic, approximately 20 to 25 years old, with acne and a scar on his forehead. Police say he had short hair on the side and long hair on top, and was wearing dark-colored shorts, a light-colored hooded sweatshirt and white sneakers.
