Organ Donation Awareness Month: Huntington Town To Raise Flag

HUNTINGTON, NY — The Town of Huntington, with LiveOnNY, is set to recognize April as Donate Life Month with its annual flag raising.

The event is scheduled for 11 a.m. Thursday at Huntington Town Hall's Veterans Plaza, located at 100 Main St., Huntington.

LiveOnNY is a nonprofit organization dedicated to facilitating lifesaving organ donations, caring for families of donors, educating and advocating the power donation holds. They are the federally designated organ procurement organization (OPO) for the Greater New York City area.

The Town of Huntington will be joining LiveOnNY in recognizing April as Donate Life Month.

"The Town is renewing its commitment to organ donation, especially with town employees who recently had major organ transplants," the town stated.
