Samuel Maratto, HS Football Coach From Huntington, Dies At 65
Maratto was a resident of Huntington for 34 years.

Sam "Sammy" Maratto, who lived in Huntington for 34 years and was a youth football coach, died on Jan. 31. He was 65.
Born in Yonkers on June 30, 1953, Maratto graduated from Westchester Community College with an electrical engineering associate degree. He used his degree and worked as a technical engineer at Con Edison for 40 years.
Before getting into coaching, Maratto played football in high school and on a semiprofessional team in Yonkers.

In the 1980s, he began coaching the Huntington Bulldogs and then coached at St. Anthony's High School until 2013.
Maratto is survived by his wife of 41 years, Terry; his son Mike, the head football coach at Half Hallow Hills; daughter, Christina; brother Michael; and four grandchildren.
