South Huntington Schools Announce 2-Hour Delay Monday Due To Snow, Icy Conditions
Snow and icy road conditions prompted the district to delay the start of the school day, officials said.
SOUTH HUNTINGTON, NY — South Huntington Schools will operate on a 2-hour delay on Monday, Dec. 15, due to snow conditions and the potential for icy roads, district officials said.
School officials cited falling temperatures overnight, which could lead to additional icy conditions. The delay is intended to give town crews additional time to clear roads surrounding the community and ensure the safety of students, families, and staff.
Students who use district transportation should arrive at their bus stops 2 hours later than their normal pickup time.
