Town Hosting Forum On Keeping LI Sound Clean
The public forum will discuss keeping plastic bags out of the Long Island Sound.

Huntington town officials are hosting a forum to discuss keeping plastic bags out of the Long Island Sound on Thursday at town hall.
The forum will be run by Adrienne Esposito of Citizens Campaign for the Environment, Rob DiGiovanni of Atlantic Marine Conservation Society and Christina Manto of Wildlife Conservation Society, and will begin at 7 p.m.
"Plastic pollution is a growing threat to our waterways globally and to our marine life locally," according to the town. "An estimated 267 species of marine and avian life are impacted by our addiction to throw-away plastics, including whales, turtles, seals, and dolphins that populate the Long Island Sound and surrounding NY waters."
