Greenport Man Charged With Felony DWI After Crash: Police
He hit a legally parked vehicle, police say.
GREENPORT, NY — A Greenport man was charged with felony driving while intoxicated recently after a crash, police said.
The incident took place on Feb. 19 at 2:23 a.m. on 5th Avenue in Greenport when Manuel Martinez Ruiz, 40, who was driving a 2007 Dodge pickup north on 5th Ave, left his lane of travel, striking a legally parked vehicle, Southold Town police said.
The force of the impact caused Martinez Ruiz's vehicle to become disabled in the middle of the roadway, police said.

Martinez Ruiz was arrested and charged with DWI, previous conviction within 10 years, a felony, police said.
Martinez Ruiz's vehicle was impounded due to his prior DWI, police said. Martinez Ruiz was processed at Southold police headquarters and was held for arraignment, police said.
