Man Found Asleep In Running Car In Southold Charged With DWI: PD

SOUTHOLD, NY — A Wyandanch man was arrested and charged with driving unlicensed and intoxicated in Southold recently, police said.

The incident took place on Feb. 23 at 6 p.m. on Youngs Avenue, Southold Town police said.

Authorities received numerous reports of a vehicle stopped in the roadway on Youngs Avenue by Route 25, police said. When officers arrived, the man was found sleeping in his vehicle, which was running and stopped in the street, police said.

He was arrested, charged with DWI, first offense, driving without a license, and drinking alcohol in a motor vehicle on a highway, then processed and held for morning arraignment, police said.
