Girls Hockey Takes Up Cancer Fight

Lady Islanders team hosting competition and a 'pink the park' walk.

The Long Island Lady Islanders will be taking to the ice to raise funds to battle breast cancer at the Dix Hills Ice Rink.  They will host  13 teams from New York, New Jersey, Connecticut and Pennsylvania to compete and to help fight the disease.

 All funds raised from this tournament will be donated to the American Cancer Society for breast cancer research.  All tournament games will be played at the Dix Hills Ice Rink on Saturday and Sunday. 

New this year, in conjunction with the Town of Huntington, the Lady Islanders will be sponsoring a “Pink the Park” walk around Dix Hills Park starting at 9 a.m. on Saturday.

 It will be $20 to walk and all walkers will receive a “Pink the Rink” / “Pink the Park” t-shirt and 100% of the monies raised from the walk will be donated to the American Cancer Society.  You can register the morning of the walk in the Dix Hills Park.  The walk will begin in the Dix Hills Golf Course parking lot.
