Bring Your Citi Bike Gripes to a Public Hearing on Oct. 20
Community Board 6 is compiling a list of Citi Bike stations that residents have objected to, and will host a hearing on the topic.

PROSPECT HEIGHTS, BROOKLYN — If you have concerns about Citi Bike's recent expansion in Park Slope, BoCoCa, Red Hook and Gowanus, you'll soon have a chance to make sure those concerns are recorded by Community Board 6.
The board's transportation and public safety committee will host a public hearing on Citi Bike at 6:30 p.m. on Oct. 20. The meeting will take place at the 78th Precinct, located at 65 6th Ave.
Last week, CB6 district manager Craig Hammerman told Patch that he's compiling a list of Citi Bike stations that residents have problems with. He plans to tour those stations with officials from the Department of Transportation (DOT), and then produce a report stating which ones, if any, the agency has agreed to alter.

If you can't make the Oct. 20 gathering, you can provide the board with the stations you want inspected at any time between now and then. CB6 can be reached by emailing info@BrooklynCB6.org, or by calling 718-643-3027.
Last month, a Citi Bike-related eruption took over a CB6 meeting, as numerous residents showed up to protest the new stations in their neighborhoods. For its part, the DOT has said that all Citi Bike locations were chosen after a careful process involving significant community participation, and that residents can submit station objections to Brooklyn DOT commissioner Keith Bray.
