Man Hit By Own Car Trying To Stop Thief In Prospect Heights: Cops
A man was hit by his own car on St. John's Place Friday when he caught a thief driving away in it, police said.
PROSPECT HEIGHTS, BROOKLYN — A man was hit by his own car Friday morning when he failed to stop a thief from driving off with it, police said.
The man jumped in front of his car on St. John's Place between Washington and Classon avenues about 10:30 a.m., police said.
The car crashed into him then thief sped off, leaving the car owner lying in the road with a broken leg, said police.

Medics rushed the man to an area hospital with injuries that were not life threatening, police said.
The car, and its new driver, had not been found as of 1 p.m., police said.
