CROWN HEIGHTS, BROOKLYN: Ahead of her big debate in the Brooklyn Navy Yard next Thursday, Hillary Clinton spoke to a crowd of supporters at a "Women for Hillary" town hall a little further east Tuesday afternoon.
The event was housed in the Medgar Evers College gymnasium on Bedford Avenue. It's no Brownsville Rec Center, but it's at least situated in a (somewhat) less gentrified hood than Brooklyn Heights, where Clinton set up her campaign headquarters, and the newly hip Navy Yard, which will host the Sanders vs. Clinton debate.
Also in attendance Tuesday will be Congresswoman Yvette Clarke, NYC First Lady Chirlane McCray and Gwen Carr, mother of the late Eric Garner — all of whom have pledged Team Hillary from the start.
If the Newsweek video (embedded above) stops working for some reason, DNAinfo and Brooklyn Paper also live-tweeted and -blogged the event.
Eric Garners mom, Gwen Carr, in Brooklyn, promotes Hillary to "President Clinton". "We tried all the men, let's try a woman "".
