Track Repairs East Of Rockville Centre Could Cause Overnight Delays

For three nights, the LIRR will shut one track from Valley Stream to Rockville Centre.

ROCKVILLE CENTRE, NY — Track work on the LIRR could cause some delays overnight at the Rockville Centre station.

While work is being done, one track will be out of service from 9:30 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. between Valley Stream and Rockville Centre.

Residents in the immediate vicinity of the repairs between North Forest Avenue and North Long Beach Road could be disrupted by the work, the village of Rockville Centre said.

Service will also be suspended on the West Hempstead branch so engineers can do testing.

Several trains will be cancelled or operate with modified schedules.

The repairs are expected to take place on the nights of Dec. 6-8.
