It's Time For The Town of Rye & pRYEde 4th Annual Pride Celebration

The lineup of events is intended to "uplift love and equity across our community and celebrate our LGBTQ+ friends and neighbors."

RYE, NY — It's once again time for the Sound Shore to get together to celebrate that which makes us unique and the things we share as a community — and the weather forecast looks great.

The Town of Rye and pRYEde, a local 501c3 non-profit organization dedicated to LGBTQ+ education, advocacy and celebration, are kicking off Pride Month with family-friendly fun at Rye Town Park on Saturday.

This year’s event will be held in collaboration with the Rye Arts Council, the Westchester Children’s Museum, the Rye Park Commission and several local organizations, to "uplift love and equity across our community and celebrate our LGBTQ+ friends and neighbors."

2024 activities will include:

  • 4:30 p.m. Pride Fair and Artist Exhibition at the Rye Town Beach Pavilions
  • 6 p.m. Speeches, Song, Progress Pride Flag Raising with Music by Kiah Thomas
  • 6:30 p.m. Parade Led by Anne Cubberly's Giant Puppets, from Rye Town Park, along the Playland Boardwalk
  • 7 p.m. Afterparty at RTP North Gate ($10 entry) with DJ (Get DownEntertainment) and food catered by The Barley Beach House. Tickets can be purchased online or at Rye Town Park North Gate that evening.

The festivities will be hosted by Town Supervisor Gary Zuckerman, and overseen by Pride Committee chairs Amanda Timchak, who is the co-founder of pRYEde, and Councilperson Pam Jaffee. They will be joined by community leaders, local students, activists and community members. Other government officials will include County Executive George Latimer, Village of Mamaroneck Mayor Sharon Torres, and Port Chester Board of Trustee Joan Grangenois-Thomas.
