Swastika Graffiti Found On School Campus In Westchester, Triggers Investigation (dailyvoice.com) — Rye Country Day School is investigating a swastika briefly drawn in water on a campus walkway and has brought in counselors to support affected students and staff. Administrators addressed Upper School students directly, plan follow-up conversations with younger grades, and stressed that hateful behavior has no place at Rye Country Day while disciplinary steps and educational responses move forward.
   

2. Jay Heritage Center Sues Westchester County Over $11M Development Proposal for Marshlands Property (ryerecord.com) — A major legal fight is brewing in Rye as the Jay Heritage Center sues Westchester County, claiming it’s being kept in the dark about an $11 million expansion proposal at the Marshlands Conservancy. With visible changes already reported near the preserve and both the outgoing and incoming Rye mayors seeking answers, residents could see significant impacts on a key local natural area.
   

3. Fired Worker Used Access To Amazon Prime Account To Steal Thousands From Former Employer: Police (patch.com) — A Rye business on Milton Road reported thousands in unauthorized Amazon purchases after a former employee allegedly kept using its Prime account. Rye detectives traced more than 30 orders totaling about $4,300, and the suspect has been charged with felony grand larceny and arraigned in Rye City Court.
   

4. Rye Police arrest Suffern man for driving while high on drugs (cityreviewnr.com) — Rye police recently arrested a Suffern man after residents reported an erratic Audi on Forest Avenue near Playland Parkway just after midnight on Dec. 7. Officers say he failed field sobriety tests, was charged with driving while impaired by drugs, and released on an appearance ticket for Rye City Court.
   

5. Yorktown wins Section 1 large schools duals wrestling championship (lohud.com) — Rye High School’s wrestling team fell to Arlington and Fox Lane in the Section 1 large-school duals, as Yorktown dominated the tournament to claim the championship and a state berth. Local fans can see how Rye stacked up against top regional competition and which powerhouse program will represent Section 1 in Syracuse next month.
