RYE, NY — Parking restrictions in Rye parking lots will be suspended as severe weather with the potential for flooding moves into the area

Weather predictions this evening call for 2 to 3 inches of rain, with more possible in spots. Winds around 20-30 mph and gusts up to 60 mph. Because of the perilous forecast, the Rye Police Department has lifted parking restrictions after 4 p.m. tonight in the City.

Car-owners who would ordinarily park in flood-prone lots near waterways are being encouraged to move to the Metro-North station parking lot closer to Peck Avenue.

Cars will not receive a ticket for parking out of the permitted zones during the expected severe weather.
