Wakeboarder Found Safe After Going Missing From Icy LI Sound Waters
A 911 caller told police he last saw his friend appearing to be taken by the currents towards Larchmont Harbor.

RYE, NY — A late December adventure on the Long Island Sound created a few tense moments, but had a happy ending.
The City of Rye Police Department says that on Friday, around 2:30 p.m., they received a report of a wakeboarder in distress in the Long Island Sound.
The caller told police that he had been wakeboarding with his friend when they got separated. He said that he last saw his friend appearing to be taken by the currents towards Larchmont Harbor.

Police say that several patrol units were dispatched to shore points to attempt to gain a visual on the missing wakeboarder and to interview the caller.
The Marine Unit responded to the area and ultimately found the missing wakeboarder on shore at Seven Oaks Lane in the Village of Mamaroneck.

After patrol units and EMS responded to the location, the person was determined to be in good health.
