Rt. 347 Evening Road Closures, Motown Comes to Smithtown on Thursday

Good morning. Here's what's happening today in Smithtown.

-Smithtown drivers heading out late night or early morning should avoid Route 347 between Route 111/Wheeler Road and Mount Pleasant Road. 

New York State Department of Transportation will be closing two lanes of traffic, one in each direction along the 0.8 miles of roadway on Wednesday and Thursday nights, between 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. 

-There is something for everyone at the Stony Brook Film Festival. Showing tonight are two interesting documentaries. Muscle Shoals takes a look at a little recording studio in Alabama that created some magic in the form of legendary albums from legendary musicians. 

Blackfish takes a hard look at the death of a Sea World trainer who was eaten by a killer whale used for their aquatic shows. Take a look at the trailer, it is chilling.
