5 Local Events to Hit This Weekend

Interested in seeing a performance of the Rodgers and Hammerstein classic "The Sound of Music"? A performance is set to take place at the Smithtown Center for the Performing Arts on Saturday at 2 p.m. Tickets are $16.

Want to see a performance of Guys and Dolls? You could see one courtesy of , located at 230 East Main Street in Smithtown. The show is set for Friday at 8 p.m., Saturday at 8 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m. Tickets cost $12 or $10 for seniors and children under five-years-old.

Looking for a new pet? Want to adopt a rescued dog? You might want to check out the dogs up for adoption via Last Chance Animal Rescue and Petco in Lake Grove. The event begins at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday.
