- October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. A Light the Tree Pink Ceremony will be hosted on Tuesday, Oct. 11, in support of survivors at St. Catherine of Siena Hospital located at 50 Route 25A in Smithtown. The event starts at 5:30 p.m. (Town Of Smithtown)
- Twenty-two license plate readers are expected to be installed on various spots on the Southern State Parkway. According to officials, the readers will help police identify drivers with arrest warrants and give feedback on traffic situations. (Newsday/Subscription Required)
- American Legion is hosting a Comedy Show and Fundraiser at its Smithtown post at 51 Juniper Avenue on Saturday, Oct. 22. Tickets are $30 per person. Comedians were invited by Laugh out Loud Productions. This event is scheduled to start at 7:30 p.m. (Town Of Smithtown)
- LaVida Massage & Skincare is expanding its steps in Smithtown. The company is opening a new spot on Terry Road with a grand opening on Friday, Oct. 14, at 4 p.m. Tours, free services, and giveaways will be offered during the event. (Patch)
